Singapore – Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific (DNA) announced that it has promoted directors Lilee Cheong and Melissa Tham to vice presidents. Both Cheong and Tham assume their new roles from July 1. In her new role as vice president, sales planning and operations for the network, Cheong’s key responsibilities will focus on supporting DNA’s commercial teams in developing and executing their revenue strategy. Cheong is an eight-year veteran at Discovery, having joined in 2000 as a financial and planning analyst. She was promoted to manager, business planning with the finance department then to director, and last year moved to affiliate sales where she served as director, sales planning and operations. Melissa Tham, formerly director, communications at DNA, will now head up the regional communications team as vice president, communications. She will be responsible for overseeing strategic communications for Discovery across the region including media relations, public affairs, internal communications, and government affairs. Tham joined Discovery in 2002 as senior communications manager. Prior to joining Discovery, Tham was network communications manager at MTV, and before that served as marketing communications manager with Nike Southeast Asia. She reports to Tom Keaveny, executive vice president and managing director, Discovery Networks Asia Pacific.
