Multi-cultural subscription TV and radio broadcaster UBI World TV has added international sports TV channel Setanta Sports to offer professional live sporting entertainment from around the world to subscribers in Australia. Targeting migrant homes across Australia, Asia, Africa and New Zealand, UBI World TV is a provider, distributor and content aggregator of international non-English programming. Its 24-hour UBI World TV service offers language packages from global broadcasters to provide news, current affairs and entertainment programmes in native languages. Currently, UBI World TV has more than 100 premium TV and radio channels for over 20 language groups sourced from some 30 countries worldwide. Catering to UBI’s multicultural subscriber base, Setanta Sports’ exclusive programming includes a mix of soccer, rugby union, cricket and boxing. A highlight of the channel will be its broadcast of all 31 games of the UEFA European Football Championship, EURO 2008, from June 7 – 30, 2008, along with its daily highlights package and replays of each day’s games. Setanta Sports is also scheduled to air the South American World Cup Qualifiers in June 2008. Setanta Sports, founded in Ireland in 1992, has operations in five territories and has 12 channels in the UK including Setanta Sports 1 and 2, Setanta Golf, Setanta Sport Ireland (UK version), Setanta Sports News, Liverpool FC TV, Arsenal TV, Celtic TV, Rangers TV, Racing UK, Racing World and NASN. The company also has sports channels in Ireland, Canada and the US.
