Hong Kong – Qualcomm Inc, developer of wireless technologies and data solutions, and CETECOM Inc (USA), an independent wireless technology testing and certification organization have signed a test services agreement to establish the latter as the first independent FLO certification lab. CETECOM will apply approved testing and certification processes published by the FLO Forum and perform FLO Series I, II and III testing services on cellular and consumer electronics devices intended to support commercial MediaFLO services to ensure performance criteria are met to speed up market entry. The agreement will also see Qualcomm make its facilities and equipment available to CETECOM for FLO Series III testing of CDMA-based devices. The certification process is aimed at facilitating equipment providers and operators to bring MediaFLO mobile broadcast devices and services to market worldwide.
