Sydney – Nine Network and FOX Sports have taken Australian live TV coverage rights from ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) for International Cricket Council (ICC) cricket events from 2008-2011. The deal covers international events including the 2008 and 2010 ICC Champions Trophy tournaments, ICC World Twenty20 in 2009 and the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011. Under the agreement with ESS, both Nine Network and FOX Sports will broadcast coverage from the ICC Cricket World Cup and the ICC World Twenty20 while FOX SPORTS will air all games from the ICC Champions Trophy tournaments in 2008 and 2010. ESPN STAR Sports through its affiliate, EML, holds the exclusive global telecast rights from the ICC for all events from 2007 to 2015.
