Shanghai – Guenther Hake has been promoted to senior vice president and managing director, Disney Consumer Products (DCP) and Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE), to lead DCP Greater China. Relocating to Shanghai from July 1, 2008, Hake will drive DCP’s licensing business and lead the sales teams for DCP and WDSHE, and develop the Disney brand to create an ‘immersive experience’ for Chinese consumers. He will also build relationships with Disney’s other Chinese businesses for joint opportunities and integrate Disney’s approach to retailers in Greater China. Hake was formerly VP, retail sales and marketing for DCP Europe where he developed relationships with key European accounts leveraging the sales strategy through dedicated offices for Carrefour, Tesco, Asda, Migros and C&A; established regional sales meetings to align licensees on priorities; and drove regional best practice sharing and talent assessment.
