Hong Kong – Granada International, part of UK’s ITV, has sold more than 300 hours of HD programming to Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom, to be available via its Multimedia On-Demand (MOD) IPTV-VOD service. Titles covered by the deal include recently launched dramas My Boy Jack, Murdoch Mysteries, Durham County and Ballet Shoes; multiple series of factual programming Planet Science and Brainiac; various Hollywood TV movies and three series of Agatha Christie’s Poirot, as well as features such as The Fabulous Baker Boys and Bugsy Malone. Providing fixed line services, mobile services, Internet and data services in Taiwan, Chunghwa Telecom’s new MOD service is currently available to 450,000 subscribers. Granada International’s partnership with Chunghwa Telecom is the latest in a series of deals targeting to derive new digital revenues from the ITV Worldwide programming portfolio and maximize exploitation of content globally.
