Cannes – MGM Networks, a division of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc (MGM), will debut MGM HD, the high definition version of The MGM Channel in Israel, to be available to subscribers of DTH platform YES from April 2008. MGM HD will be simulcast with the existing standard definition MGM channel as part of the YES platform’s HD basic tier, and like the SD MGM channel, it will offer programming subtitled in Hebrew. MGM HD will join four other HD channels already available on YES to HD subscribers that currently number in the thousands. MGM HD and its standard definition counterpart on YES will be 100% owned by MGM. MGM HD’s launch in Israel follows the channel’s October 2007 debut in the US, and the December 2006 launch of MGM Networks’ first HD channel in Poland. The MGM Channels are currently available in more than 120 countries worldwide and are broadcast in nearly 20 languages.
