Cannes – Canal France International (CFI) and the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) has launched the France-Singapore Cross-Platform Programme Challenge to promote new cross- and multi-platform content collaboration and strengthen bilateral ties. The competition is the first initiative following the CFI-MDA Memorandum of Understanding signed in Singapore November 2007 during the Asia Television Forum (ATF) 2007 to facilitate co-production and digital broadcast training collaborations between the two countries. Supported by CFI and MDA in partnership with TV France International, the inaugural competition invites proposals for factual programmes with potential to be exploited on traditional and new media platforms and of subjects of interest to Europe and Asia. Two winners will win a cash prize of €15,000 (US$23,700). The jury panel includes Margaret Goubin, documentaries acquisitions, CFI; Alain Jalladeau, Festival des 3 Continents; Selena Ho, director (IPTV & Content), SingTel; Seah Wee Thye, deputy director (business development), MDA; and a yet-to-be confirmed Korea Broadcasting Institute representative. Closing date for submissions is September 15, 2008 with the winners to be announced at ATF 2008, to be held from December 10-12, 2008 in Singapore. The ATF is an anchor event of the Asia Media Festival (AMF) 2008, a trade market and festival hosted by MDA.
