Cannes – BBC Worldwide France has concluded a co-production deal with French pubcaster France 5 for HD documentary Human Journey. The new five-part series follows their co-production Surviving Disaster which aired in 2006, and was sold to 25 broadcasters worldwide. Human Journey will trace five ancient routes taken by early men across the world to reveal the challenges they faced. Using new genetic and archaeological evidence, the show focuses on the gradual adaptation of human culture and physiology in response to the environment. This series is scheduled to premiere 2009 on BBC Two in the UK. Paul Bradshaw is series producer while Kim Shillinglaw is executive producer of Human Journey.
