Washington, DC – National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) has commissioned from British independent production house Renegade Pictures, new series Planet Mechanics and Vegas Comes to China to air in April and May 2008, respectively. Planet Mechanics (8 x 60’) is an environmental awareness series featuring inventors Dick Strawbridge and Jem Stansfield who help small businesses and individuals innovate and go about their routine in environmentally-friendly ways. Planet Mechanics is executive produced by Donna Clark. Vegas Comes to China (4 x 60’) follows Macau’s progression from a colonial town to a gambling metropolis. The series offers a microcosm into the fundamental changes underway throughout China. Vegas Comes to China is executive produced by Sam Anthony and Alan Hayling.
