Singapore/Hong Kong – MTV Asia will launch the MTV+Me campaign to showcase MTV idents (MIDs) created by individuals on its channel from April 1, 2008. MID is an emblem of the MTV identity incorporating the MTV logo in any art form. Participants submitted their creative works via the MTV Asia website where the company’s content and creative department picked the best entries to air. Breaking the MTV MID mould, the names of artists will be displayed at the end of their works to recognize the efforts. Selected MIDs will be available to creative directors of MTV offices worldwide for display on local channels to extend the visibility and reach of the campaign, as well as provide an international platform to creatives to present their creations. Entries have been received from India, Portugal, Malaysia and Singapore. Piloting the campaign will be Cristina Guerreiro’s submission ‘Mr Rudi’ from Portugal. Extending the campaign, MTV Asia will sponsor the ‘Crowbar Challenge’ at the Crowbar Awards to be held in Singapore in July 2008. Organized by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Singapore, the awards show is an annual platform for students to showcase their works, with the ‘Crowbar Challenge’ accepting MID submissions from March 20-May 9, 2008. Selected participants of the MTV+Me campaign and the winner of the ‘Crowbar Challenge’ may be offered internships at MTV Asia. A limited edition MTV+Me medal will be presented to winners and special creative awards will be given out annually to honour participants with ‘impressive bodies of work’. In addition, online and on-air platforms are synthesized with campus presentations at various arts and design schools in Singapore and Malaysia to increase the interactivity of the campaign.
