Taipei – PTS’ two-year digital TV plan appears to be on track with the announcement of two HD co-productions and an HD trial channel set to air April-May 2008 PTS has just completed an HD Dolby 5.1 wildlife film entitled The Spirit of Orchid Island, an international co-production with a British director. Another HD wildlife program, co-produced with InFocus Asia, is also in progress at the moment. Taiwan’s first trial HD channel, aired by PTS in conjunction with Chunghwa Telecom, is scheduled to launch this upcoming April-May just before the 2008 Beijing Games, to provide HD live-broadcasting of the Olympics over IPTV and mobile TV platforms.
