Montreal – Distraction has closed its first Chinese deal with Beijing New Century Media for Dirty Rotten Cheater, a game show format that combines strategy and cheating. Dirty Rotten Cheater is based on deception and double-crossing as six players compete to answer a series of questions. The monetary returns vary with the level of difficulty of the questions. A ‘Cheater’ will be planted in the group with all answers fed to the player and contestants will have to expose the ‘Cheater’. The game show generates audience suspicions, opponents’ accusations and disputes. Created by Jonathan Goodson Productions is a hit US game show and has aired in India on Star, Japan’s Tokyo Broadcasting System, Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh TV, Italy’s Canale 5, France’s F2, and Spain’s (Telemadrid), as well as UK’s BBC. Michel Rodrigue, president of Distraction said “We have a lot more ongoing deals in China and we hope that Dirty Rotten Cheater paves the way for further success in this territory.”
