Ismaning – Sport1 GmbH, EM.Sport Media AG’s online sports content company, has promoted Jan Schwark as managing director to replace Patrick Zeilhofer who is leaving the company on March 31, 2008 by mutual agreement, following differences in opinions on future corporate policy. As managing director, Schwark takes on operational responsibility of Sport1 and will lead the company’s expansion of multimedia content and development of new business concepts and marketing strategy. Schwark was formerly head of corporate strategy at EM.Sport Media AG, and has served as provisional managing director before Zeilhofer was appointed managing director in July 2006 Having been managing director since 2006, Zeilhofer consolidated Sport1’s position in the market with new content and business concepts.
