Wolverhampton, England – ROK Entertainment Group Inc., UK-based mobile technologies, applications and entertainment developer, is broadcasting on mobile TV, CCTV’s Spring Festival Evening Gala in cooperation with China Central Television (CCTV)-affiliated corporation, CCTV International Network Company. The Spring Festival Evening Gala is China’s premier TV event featuring drama, dance, and song held on the eve of Chinese New Year annually. ROK will broadcast the Spring Festival Evening Gala live today (Feb 6) and will offer looped broadcast till Feb 22, 2008 to mobile users in Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, Canada and South Africa through their ROK TV and FreeBe TV products. CCTV is also offering live streaming to mobile users in mainland China via its mobile TV service. Paul Lessells, CEO of ROK’s China-based subsidiary, ROK New Net said, “We will be concentrating our marketing efforts on generating viewers amongst Chinese communities who will be able to experience the celebrations for themselves, and can receive the conventional greetings from relatives at home in a new technological format.” The live broadcast of the festival has been distributed internationally since 1983 and is to be available on a much larger scale than before in 2008 with more programs and wider coverage expected.
