Hong Kong – Jan 1 2008 saw National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) launch 24-hour wildlife channel Nat Geo Wild on Hong Kong Cable Television’s basic programming platform (channel 33). Nat Geo Wild is the only channel from NGCI available in dual voice track options to cater to English and Cantonese speaking viewers in Hong Kong and offers programming focused on the natural world including the environment and creatures that inhabit it. Speaking at the launch, Zubin Gandevia, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of National Geographic Channel Asia said, “We have a long-standing distribution partnership with Hong Kong Cable Television since the debut of National Geographic Channel in 1999 and Nat Geo Adventure in 2002. We are delighted to partner with Hong Kong Cable Television in launching Nat Geo Wild to extend the channel’s distribution in Hong Kong.”
