Hong Kong – National Geographic Channels Asia will introduce Nat Geo Junior, a 2 x 1hr programming block on National Geographic Channel for children. Starting from Feb 4, Nat Geo Junior will air on weekdays from 10 – 11am and 5 – 6pm (HKG/SGP/MAL) on the Hong Kong and ASEAN regional satellite feed. Nat Geo Junior targets to provide learning beyond the classroom through educational documentary programmes. Nat Geo Junior’s launch in Asia sees Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and other ASEAN countries join viewers in India, Turkey and the Netherlands where the programming block is already available. In Asia, Nat Geo Junior is expected to be available to more than 6 million households targeting viewers aged 7 – 16. Featuring a new graphics package, Nat Geo Junior will air National Geographic Channel and National Geographic Television produced documentary programmes. The current programming line-up includes series I Didn’t Know That (30 x 30”) which investigates how things are made and how they work; Mad Labs (20 x 30”) which explores science through quirky experiments and premiering series, Wild Detectives (10 x 30 minutes) which sees National Geographic experts attempting to keep saving wild animals from danger.
