Hong Kong – Granada International, part of ITV, brokered a muli-party deal to bring an Indian version of National Geographic quiz format, Nat Geo-Genius, to India. The show debuted on National Geographic Channel on Jan 19, 9pm in India. Granada International brought together sponsor Lufthansa; advertising agency Group M, part of the WPP Group; National Geographic and Indian producers Midditech for the 13 X 30” show hosted by actor and director Rajat Kapoor. Nat Geo-Genius is a quiz show that aims to select the contestant who is most knowledgeable about the world. Using the Earth as a race track, contestants will be tested on their knowledge of the countries they pass through on a virtual expedition around the world. The winner will be crowned National Geo-Genius and go on an all expenses paid trip to his/her desired destination.
