Hong Kong – Disney-ABC International Television, The Walt Disney Company’s international TV distribution arm, has inked VOD IPTV agreements with Korean telcos KT Corporation and Hanaro Telecom to bring Disney programming to the former’s Mega TV and the latter’s HanaTV services. The two deals, signed separately, covers TV series and movies to be made available on-demand via the two IPTV services. TV series including Grey’s Anatomy, Lost and Desperate Housewives will debut on-demand in Korea; while movies from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films including Pirates of The Caribbean: At World’s End, Ratatouille, National Treasure and Meet the Robinsons as well as Disney classic titles Finding Nemo, Lilo & Stitch, and Toy Story will also be available on-demand. In December 2007, Disney announced a SVOD branded channel on Mega TV with a range of Disney Channel programming for preschoolers, kids and families including Kim Possible and The Emperor’s New School, sitcom Hannah Montana, as well as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Little Einsteins, the learning-focused Playhouse Disney series for preschoolers, parents and caregivers. A Disney branded SVOD channel for Disney Channel is also available on HanaTV.
