Hong Kong – Soumitra Saha is tipped to be the new Senior Vice President and General Manager of Turner Entertainment Networks Asia (TENA). Formerly Vice-President, Regional Entertainment Advertising Sales, Turner Entertainment Network, Asia, Saha replaces Ian Diamond, who resigned recently and officially steps down in early February 2008. Within the TENA programming team, Mark Eyers is promoted to Executive Director, Programming; Hema Prakash to Director, Programming Operations; and Vishnu Athreya returns to Turner as Director – Programming Acquisitions & Development. Previously, Director – Programming, Eyers will continue to oversee Program Planning & Scheduling as well as Presentation, and will be responsible for a unified vision across all programming functions, including Operations, Acquisitions and Development. Prakash will be tasked with developing and driving the creative dubbing and language strategy for its channels. In this expanded role, Prakash will also oversee the management of TENA’s content assets across new media platforms. And Athreya, who returns to Turner after a break of two years, will work closely with TENA’s Programming and Original Production teams across Asia Pacific to acquire and develop original content for Turner’s kids’ channels in the region. He joins early next year and will be based in Hong Kong. These changes help fill the void left by the departure of TENA’s former Head of Acquisitions and Development, Michelle Schofield. She is now Director, Content – Programming, Acquisitions and Production at AETN All Asia Networks.
