BBC Worldwide has appointed Joyce Yeung to the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Global TV Sales, Asia, to lead the company’s content distribution activity across TV, DVD, digital platforms and licensing. Yeung will join BBC Worldwide in 2008. To be based at BBC Worldwide’s Hong Kong office, Yeung will lead an overall sales team of 24 including the Tokyo sales team. She is supported by the Asian management team comprising Katsuhiko Waza in Tokyo, as well as Pierre Cheung, Linfield Ng, Maggie Wong and Helen Wong in Hong Kong. Yeung was formerly VP Sales and Business Development, Asia Pacific at Sparrowhawk Media, and Executive Director for all Disney ABC International TV Sales across Asia before that. Yeung’s SVP appointment is BBC Worldwide’s second in the region, with Christine Leo-McKerrow’s appointment to SVP Asia Pacific for Global Channels preceding it.
