Singapore – Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific) has closed a raft of deals in Asia Pacific for its program offerings. The company also brought its largest ever slate of 11 new and 12 returning shows to the Asia Television Forum in Singapore. New series Dirty Sexy Money, Reaper and Samantha Who? have been licensed to Australia’s Seven Network, New Zealand’s TVNZ, Malaysia’s 8TV, the Philippines’ Studio 23, Fiji TV, Singapore’s MediaCorp TV Channel 5 and STAR World Asia. Those broadcasters, apart from 8tv, as well as Malaysia’s ntv7 picked up the series Private Practice. The distributor also concluded an inaugural multi-year multi-genre volume deal with Creative Programs Inc. (CPI), a subsidiary of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, for current and library series, features, a daytime talk show and ABC News programming. CPI recently launched basic cable channels Balls (sport), male-skewing Maxxx and female-targeted Velvet. CPI acquired drama series Dirt and Three Moons Over Milford, as well as talk show The View and ABC News’ Good Morning America for Velvet. New to Southeast Asia, The View airs live from the US while Good Morning America broadcasts 2 hours after the US telecast. Maxxx also picked up films Seabiscuit and Miracle.
