Hong Kong – TVB Jade has won the ABU/CASBAA/UNICEF Child Rights Award 2007 for its documentary Children Left Behind. The 30-minute documentary chronicles the lives of 22 million ‘home-alone’ children in Chinese rural villages in Hunan, Szechuan and Chongqing provinces as parents migrate to urban centers for work. The Asia Pacific Child Rights Award, established in 2001, is presented annually to the best TV program on child rights issues produced in Asia-Pacific. The Award was presented on Nov 2 this year at the CASBAA Convention in Hong Kong. More than 60 entries were received from Australia, Bhutan, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
