Sydney – The Seven Network and Tennis Australia have extended their broadcasting deal for the Australian Open to 2014, also giving Seven exclusive new media rights to the event from 2008, and exclusive pay-TV rights from 2010. Seven will launch high-definition television coverage of the Open from 2009 and will continue to produce the global television coverage of the event. Seven has had the free-to-air rights since 1973. The new deal also delivers Seven all rights for the Davis Cup and the tournaments which form Australia’s Summer of Tennis.
