Hong Kong/Singapore – Discovery Networks Asia is launching a Planet Green programming block on Discovery Channel from March 2008. Planet Green is a global, cross-company initiative committed to documenting, preserving and celebrating the planet. The brand is scheduled to launch as the first 24-hour green television network in the US in 2008. Tom Keaveny, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Discovery Networks Asia, said “Environmental issues are at the forefront of consumer consciousness now throughout the Asia Pacific region. Planet Green will become the media brand synonymous with environmental education and awareness in this region.”
