Hong Kong – Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Ltd has launched a full transponder C-band MCPC (Multiple Channels per Carrier) technology platform to provide video, audio, data and IP-based broadcast services on AsiaSat 3S at AsiaSat’s Tai Po Earth Station in Hong Kong. Through this new platform, AsiaSat will provide a one-stop package to broadcasters irrespective of locations. Working with its partners, AsiaSat now offers space segment, optical fibre, downlink, uplink and other value-added services including playout and conditional access from Hong Kong onto AsiaSat 3S. The multi-client platform enables broadcast customers to deliver their services in SD or HD at full power of the transponder. The new platform complements AsiaSat’s existing MCPC platforms that are operated either directly by the Tai Po Earth Station or by its partners in the region.
