Tokyo– Universal Pictures Japan (UPJ) and Geneon Entertainment Inc have formed a home entertainment distribution partnership in Japan. Geneon will distribute new release titles on DVD, starting with The Bourne Ultimatum in March 2008. UPJ will continue to distribute all Universal catalogue and TV products, including Heroes, on DVD, and handle manufacturing and marketing activities of all new release and catalogue titles. Eddie Cunningham, President, Universal Pictures International Entertainment said, “This deal will help us secure stronger and wider distribution in a very competitive Japanese marketplace, and will complement our theatrical distribution deal with Toho-Towa. Geneon’s localized home entertainment expertise will help us to drive greater growth in Japan.”
