Cannes – The Malaysian delegation represented by 12 MSC Malaysia status companies was able to secure deals in access of RM60 Million (US$17.7 million). And Malaysia-based Animasia Studio’s production ABC Monster was ranked the 29th most requested screening, of 919 programmes viewed, at this year’s MIPCOM Junior trade show held from October 6 – 7 at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes, France. ABC Monster is an HD 2D animation series which follows the adventures of twenty six monsters in a world named Capital Castle. Among the business deals secured were: Vision Animation Sdn Bhd’s partnership agreement between Kapow Pictures of Australia worth RM20 million (US$5.9 million) for the co-production of 2D animation TV series CJ the DJ; Vision Animation also secured another co-production deal worth RM20 million (US$5.9 million) with Moody Street Kids (Australia) and Title Entertainment (Canada) for the 2D animation title Sumo Mouse.
