Endemol International has sealed an exclusive global distribution deal with John De Mol’s Talpa Media and has appointed Maarten Meijs, Manager International Licensing at Talpa, to its Licensing team. Effective from October 1, Meijs is responsible for worldwide sales of all Talpa Media’s catalogue including the portfolio of French format creator Brainbox, following Talpa’s recent acquisition of a stake in the company. Endemol will handle format and ready made sales adding new shows to Endemol International’s slate. These include Talpa’s blockbuster The Golden Cage which marked its first anniversary of non-stop transmission in the Netherlands on RTL 5 is the top show among 20-34 year old viewers with audience shares of up to 24%, while online it registers 1.4 million page views daily and almost 4 million video downloads per month. Also new is Brainbox’s Let’s Go Shopping (Prendere o Lasciare) which debut on Mediaset’s Italia 1 as an Endemol Italia production.
