New Delhi- The Indian government has lifted the one month ban on TV news channel Live India (formerly known as Janmat) imposed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Sept. 20 for airing an allegedly ‘fake’ sting operation against government school teacher Uma Khurana on Aug. 30. That was the first time a news channel had been banned. According to the ministry, Live India pleaded it did not defame any party and had “exercised all due diligence and care”. The reporter was blamed for misleading the channel.
