Singapore / Hong Kong– HP and MTV are jointly organizing “Take Action. Make Art,” a global design competition for youths to create graphics to be used in the design of a special edition of the HP Pavilion notebook. The competition will be promoted by on-air and online activities across MTV’s global network which directs viewers to a custom MTV and HP website. The winning design will be selected by a panel consisting of snowboarding Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, HP designers, the MTV creative team and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners advertising practitioners. The winner will attend the MTV Europe Music Awards in Munich in November where the new notebook will be showcased. The winner will also visit HP sites including Tokyo and Houston, to witness the notebook development process. The notebook is expected to be available worldwide in March 2008, with designs from runners-up in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the US also being made into adhesive notebook “skins” for consumers worldwide.
