Sydney- Australia’s Nine Network will produce a local version of the hit US game show Power of 10 after signing a format rights deal with Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI) In the US, the show hosted by Drew Carey delivered nearly 10 million viewers in its premiere on CBS last week. Nine hasn’t named the host of the Australian show, which will debut in Oz in 2008. Power of 10 is described as a high stakes, high-tech, adrenaline-filled game show that puts contestants through the ultimate test to prove whether they’ve got their fingers on the pulse of the nation. The show will poll thousands of people on topics from politics to pop culture with big cash prizes for the contestant who can most accurately predict how the Australian public will respond.
