FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) has launched TVComedyClassics.com, a direct-to-consumer web portal as the digital home for FME’s portfolio of comedy programming. The website hosts comedy selections from FME’s archives including titles featuring Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howerd, Eric Sykes, Sid James, Penelope Keith and Jim Davidson. With new content to be added regularly, titles available from launch for download to own or rent include Tommy Cooper Half Hour, The Howerd Confessions, George and Mildred, Love Thy Neighbour and Bless This House. FME will also offer consumers additional programming such as specially filmed episodes, interviews and other bonus content. TVComedyClassics is powered by Vizumi, the movie downloading service of Arts Alliance Media. FME will carry the TVComedyClassics brand on relevant upcoming DVD releases including five titles to be rolled out for retail this autumn. The TVComedyClassics.com website will also be cross-promoted in each DVD and accompanying PR and advertising campaigns. The company is currently exploring content opportunities with independent production companies and is looking to extend the TVComedyClassics brand locally worldwide.
