Hong Kong– The International Sports Television Forum 2007 will take place on August 24 2007 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing, hosted by the State Administration of Radio, Film & Television (SARFT) and co-organized by CASBAA with CITVC, the commercial arm of state broadcaster CCTV. CASBAA Chairman Marcel Fenez said the forum will inform the international community on the development of China’s sports TV industry. Last year the event drew more than 400 senior officials and China-based TV professionals. The forum will analyse how companies can expand sports brands in China, with emphasis on football clubs in the English Premier League. It will also examine how companies can build market share by partnering with major sports events while looking at sports in the broadcasting value chain. In addition, panels will look at ways to invest in China, gains and losses from previous Olympics, and synergies between sports leagues and pay TV.
