CNN will be showcasing the Chinese capital from August 4 – 12 in Countdown Beijing, a dedicated week of pre-Olympic Games coverage from the city including interviews, reports and an online special. CNN’s Kristie Lu Stout will report live from locations around Beijing for the morning news programme CNN Today. Andrew Stevens reports live for the evening prime-time show World News Asia. Beijing correspondent John Vause will report from the capital and beyond on the impact of the XXIX Olympiad. Talk Asia, CNN’s interview programme hosted by Anjali Rao will feature Olympic and artistic personalities including Olympic Ambassador Yang Lan and Chinese female athlete Deng Yaping. A section of CNN’s website at www.cnn.com/beijing offers exclusive content including interactive multimedia to detail the transformation of Beijing’s landscape in preparation for the games. Also available are a CNN-designed map to illustrate the path of the Olympic torch relay, polls, CNN journalists’ blogs, and streaming of video packages airing in the week.
