Singapore – BroadcastAsia2007 attracted more than 12,000 visitors over four days from June 19-22, 2007. Some 47% of the attendees were from neighbouring ASEAN countries and from Europe, China, India and the Middle-East. Themed ‘Digital: The Journey Forward,’ the event saw 763 exhibiting companies from more than 40 countries gather to present digital technologies for IPTV, HDTV and mobile broadcasting. “Digital Convergence has taken a firmer foothold in the industry as there are more enabling technologies on the show floor this year that deliver on the promise,” said Stephen Tan, Chief Executive of Singapore Exhibition Services and President of Allworld Exhibitions Alliance. There was a strong European presence, with the U.K. Pavilion’s 11 companies unveiling a range of digital broadcast technologies. The Spanish Pavilion hosted 15 small and medium-sized companies presenting broadcast equipment and solutions for the Asian market.
