Sydney- Veteran producer and broadcasting executive Sandra Levy has been appointed Director of the Australian Film Television and Radio School, succeeding the retiring Malcolm Long. The School’s Sydney’s headquarters will move to purpose-built facilities at Moore Park, near Fox Studios early next year, and new specialist courses will be introduced, covering screen business skills and digital media production. Levy’s track record includes Director of ABC Television from 2001 to 2005, where she commissioned or oversaw many programmes including Kath & Kim, New Inventors, Spicks and Specks, Enough Rope, The Chaser, Catalyst, Strictly Dancing, Operatunity Oz, We Can Be Heroes, Outback House, MDAandAnswered by Fire;head of drama development at the Nine Network; and most recently, head of drama at Andrew Denton’s production company Zapruders Other Films. She will take up the position in early July.
