London- BBC Worldwide has appointed Maggie Wong to head up its publishing and licensing business across North and South East Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Wong will be responsible for the company's DVD and licensing businesses across the region. BBC Worldwide's publishing and licensing business operates with distribution and development partnerships in all key territories including China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and across South East Asia. Key brands include Teletubbies (this year celebrating its 10th anniversary), Charlie and Lola, Doctor Who, Top Gear and Planet Earth.
Wong's team at BBC Worldwide consists of Senior Licensing Executive Nancy Chan, Senior Publishing Executive Jaclyn Pang and Publishing & Licensing Coordinator Cherry Lum.
Wong previously worked for six years as Publishing Manager HK , Taiwan and China for The Walt Disney Company (Asia Pacific) Limited. She replaces Freda Chan, who relocated to the US.
