Doha- Al Jazeera English will provide news and programming clips on YouTube through a branded channel (http://www.youtube.com/aljazeeraenglish) on the video-sharing site. YouTube users will be able to comment on, rate, and recommend clips, as well as post their video responses to communicate with other viewers. The branded channel will also include links to Al Jazeera English’s website www.aljazeera.net/english. Content available will include segments from shows such as Frost over the World, Everywoman, Inside Iraq, Inside Story, Listening Post, Riz Khan, One-on-One, The Fabulous Picture Show, Witness and 48. Al Jazeera English will add 10-15 new clips each week. Exclusive web-only programming will also be available, starting with Political Bytes, a global conversation hosted by UN correspondent Mark Seddon to allow YouTube users to interact and add video contributions. Nigel Parsons, Managing Director of Al Jazeera English, said the network’s distribution on YouTube will “dramatically” widen its current reach of more than 90 million cable and satellite households worldwide.
