Sydney- Nickelodeon is developing a new application for a safe-predictive text engine to ensure the security and suitability of content on its web site. Hugh Baldwin, Digital Media Director, Nickelodeon Australia, said this will enable viewers to chat online with their friends and other kids in community, but with limits on vocabulary. “This is an example of how we're trying to provide the freedoms and the great fun that can be had online, but at the same time, taking into account parental concerns,” he said. “We're hugely aware of the risks and parental worries and concerns about children, and what the Internet can mean on a larger scale. We obviously have very strict standards and practices that we apply to everything we do. The great thing about being Nickelodeon is we have access to knowledge and practices from around the world.”
