London – Media analyst Screen Digest has released findings on the home entertainment market in China. It reports that almost 70 million DVDs were sold to Chinese consumers in 2006 for approximately US$115 million, and forecasts the amount to exceed US$500m by 2010. The growth is expected to be at the expense of China's VCD sector, which has dwindled to about 50% of its original value to US$50m since 2002, with further decline expected through to 2010.
