The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is the new owner of the rights to the Rose d’Or Festival brand. It takes over the marketing, planning and organisation of one of the world’s most prestigious festivals in the TV industry from Ringier. The rights, which will go to the EBU officially on August 1, have been sold due to the restructuring of Ringier’s entertainment division. The Rose d’Or Festival recently made its Nominees announcement in Asia for the first time. Held in Kuala Lumpur, 36 programmes were shortlisted to compete for the coveted Golden Rose awards in Lucerne, Switzerland, from 6 to 10 May. The 400 programmes submitted to compete this year came from more 40 territories including Australia, Germany, UK, the Netherlands, Israel, Canada, Spain, South Korea and the US.
