Formerly more male-skewed, the October 23-launched line-up contains 80 percent new content, including a number of first-runs for the region. Shanghai/Hong Kong - Nickelodeon's Spongebob Squarepants returns to China Central Television (CCTV) in January 2009. This was announced as Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) awarded a multi-category licence for Spongebob Squarepants to Guangzhou Art-land. NBC Universal Global Networks debut channels into Thailand; expands channel offerings in Indonesia
Singapore - NBC Universal Global Networks has officially launched SCI FI, Universal Channel and KidsCo (a joint venture with Cookie Jar Entertainment and Nelvana) into Thailand.
