The two parties signed an international license and distribution agreement for the regions of America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East regions, worth approximately US$ 3 million. “I’m very excited in the collaboration plans with Everest Production. They are a large media group with 11 channels in the US, Europe and Turkey. Having them onboard will take our titles to greater heights and reach out to more audiences worldwide,” said Mohamed Tiar Sharif, MD-CEO of Q-plex Communication Sdn Bhd and Elite Animation Sdn Bhd. “In fact, plans are already being discussed for joint-production projects in documentaries, dramas and animation series.” Ozcan Jon Omural, vice president of business development for Everest International Distribution believes that he could hit more than US$3 million in distribution to the regions of America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The 30 eps x 23 mins program portrays a story of the Prophets, hence targeting mainly on Muslim children to nurture them towards the obligation of fasting according to the traditions and beliefs of Islam. On Day 1 of MIPTV, Turkish Network – Samanyolu picked up the above-mentioned titles for air on their network. Dr. Hidayet Karaca, head of broadcasting of Samanyolu said, “This is more than a business relationship. It is about bringing two countries together to jointly promote positive Islamic culture and tradition. This is only the beginning of the fruitful relationship.” “With Elite Animation’s sales & distribution made in MIPTV 2010, the Malaysian Government, namely MSC Malaysia & FINAS (National Film Development Corporation Malaysia) will be expecting many more Malaysian programs picked up for distribution and sales by the end of MIPTV” said Adam Ham, Entertainment & Media Specialist of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), who is also currently in Cannes bringing a 13 strong Malaysian creative content delegation to MIPTV 2010.
