JAKARTA, Indonesia – HBO Asia yesterday launched RED, its newest Asian movie channel. Also known as SCREEN RED, the channel features 24 hours of Asian movies aired in association with MATV, the leading Hong Kong-based producer and distributor of Chinese-language movies. RED, which will air the region’s latest Asian blockbuster movies, television series, and features celebrity interviews, entertainment news, is available first to Indovision subscribers in Indonesia. “We are very excited that RED is now available to viewers in Asia with Indovision subscribers in Indonesia being the first to be able to enjoy this brand new Asian movie channel,” said Jonathan Spink, CEO of HBO Asia. “RED is your home for premium Asian movie entertainment and features movies from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and other Asian countries in its original language with English and local language subtitles. In Indonesia, RED will have both English and Bahasa Indonesia subtitles,” he added. “We are very delighted to be the first broadcaster in Asia to launch RED,” said Rudy Tanoesoedibjo, CEO of MNC Sky Vision (Indovision). “Indovision has continued the long tradition of excellence, being a pioneer in providing distinguished contents to the platform.
