Malaysians have the most friends on social media platforms while the Japanese have the least, according to the findings of British research agency TNS. Conducted in 46 countries through some 50,000 interviews, the study revealed that Malaysians topped the list with an average of 233 friends. On the other hand, the Japanese have the least social media friends, averaging only 29 per user. Singaporeans ranked 11th, with an average of 184 friends. Researchers also concluded that more users in emerging digital markets are blogging and using social networking services. In China, 88 percent of users have written a blog or forum entry, while over half in Brazil have done so. This is compared to 32 percent in the United States.
