Deutsche Welle (DW) is once again working with PT MNC Sky Vision Tbk/Indovision on the Journalist Competition 2013. The two organisers are looking for journalists to publish their work on media outlets such as TV, print or online, covering topics from lifestyle to culture, and the environment to news. DW and Indovision have been working together since 2009.
The competition is open to professionals and independent journalists, and was officially launched on January 15, 2013, following a formal press event in Jakarta hosted by PT MNC Skyvision/Indovision. Brent Goff, host of DW’s Journal and Agenda, was present at the event to encourage and share his journalistic experience with the Indonesian media.
“This collaboration with DW is part of our commitment to continue such competitions for Indonesian journalists in our quest to enhance the experience of journalists in Indonesia,“ said Handhi S. Kentjono, Director of PT MNC Sky Vision Tbk/Indovision. “We hope journalists could see our good intentions and take this challenge as their opportunity.”
DW and Indovision are looking to foster international recognition for Indonesia’s best journalistic talent and furthering their skills and knowledge by providing them with a trip to Germany. Winners will visit DW’s headquarters in Bonn, take part in a workshop for journalists and attend the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum from June 17-19. To participate, contestants are required to produce stories based on lifestyle, knowledge, globalisation and the environment, referencing well known DW programmes such as Euromaxx, Drive it!, Shift, Discover Germany, Europe in Concert, Kino, Global 3000 and World Stories.
