London – Content Television, a division of Content Media Corporation, has concluded a first-look agreement with UK production powerhouse Artists Studio, which will see the distributor and producer collaborating on a roster of new titles for the international market. The deal will grant Content Television a first-look on acquiring international rights to all Artists Studio productions developed independently of any third party commissions.
Led by Gub Neal, Justin Thomson-Glover and Patrick Irwin and based in South Wales, Artists Studio operates an innovative production model, working with scriptwriters and authors through partnerships that empower creators with more control of their work. The distribution deal follows Content Television’s successful global launch of a number of Artists Studio productions, including psychological drama The Fall, starring Gillian Anderson, and the crime thriller franchise Thorne starring David Morrissey and produced by Jolyon Symonds and Greg Dummett.
“It’s a positive and exciting move for us to be formalising our relationship with Content in this way. After the hugely productive experience of working with the Content Television team on The Fall for the BBC, and also the Thorne films for Sky it will be immensely rewarding to cement our partnership further on a slew of new titles. Working hand in glove with a dedicated and bespoke distributor like Content, perfectly matches Artists Studio’s mantra of putting the key creatives at the heart of the process, and dealing with the challenges of successful commercial exploitation in a highly personal and talent friendly way,” said Gub Neal, Founder at Artists Studio.
