Mainichi Broadcasting System Inc. unveiled the newest PV for the highly anticipated animated series of Yukinobu Tatsu’s popular manga, DAN DA DAN. While teasing the anime’s opening theme, “Otonoke”, sung by Japanese Hip-Hop duo Creepy Nuts throughout the PV, MBS also announced that Japanese rock group ZUTOMAYO’s song “TAIDADA” will be DAN DA DAN’s ending theme.
The third PV begins with a defeated Momo and Okarun muttering to each other that they now believe in aliens and ghosts respectfully before cutting to an ominous shot of Turbo Granny and the duo chased by a crowd of things that look like people, a Serpoian, and other future threats. With new supernatural creatures appearing one after another, the music switches to the new OP, with its rhythmical music and Science SARU’s vibrant animation putting the world of DAN DA DAN on full display by showcasing the battles, mutations, and romantic-comedy elements fans can expect as the main story unfolds.
Along with the PV release, “TAIDADA” by ZUTOMAYO was revealed to be DAN DA DAN’s ending theme. Speaking on the series, ZUTOMAYO’s vocalist, ACAね, said, “I’ve been reading DAN DA DAN on Jump Plus since its serialization began, and even now both the initial and latest volumes continue to draw me in. As someone who has always admired the “gyaru mindset”, I find myself intrigued by Momo, and Okarun’s line about “amateur morning greetings” struck me so much that I immediately had to make a note of it in my iCloud. Being enemies is helping each other. I want to work more closely together, fight alongside each other, not overlook the tedious things, and feel the kind of fatigue that lets you sleep—like being weakened by delicious curry, like happiness in a Four-and-a-Half Tatami Room— that’s what inspired me to create this song. I hope you can enjoy it!”
