Scripted series Cypher will exclusively return to The Roku Channel for an all-new second season in 2023. The Roku Channel acquired season 2 of Cypher, which will feature 13 one-hour episodes and will be exclusive to The Roku Channel in the U.S. and Canada. The Roku Channel exclusively premiered Season 1 of Cypher in 2021.
Screen Media Ventures has worldwide distribution and will be introducing the project to buyers outside of North America at MIPTV 2022. In addition to principal producer Zeus Zamani, fellow producers include Aroma lead, Tamer Mortada, Justin Jones at Thriller Films, and Taiwan-based, Organic Media Group’s Samantha Kao & Steve Chicorel.
Cypher tells the story of an FBI code-breaking specialist who discovers a secret organization’s hit list and must navigate the murky waters of loyalty and betrayal amongst an underground ring of hackers, assassins, and government agents spanning a global conspiracy.
Created by Mohamed Sayed Bisheer and directed by Majdi Smiri, Season 1 was shot in Los Angeles and produced jointly by Cairo based Aroma Studios and United Brothers along with LA-based production companies AZ Films, Thriller Films & Organic Media Group.

Season 2 will involve new writers, a more diverse cast, and matching global shooting locations. Pre-production is already in motion for an international shoot covering numerous territories including USA, Egypt, Australia, and Taiwan.
